Terms of Service

Last updated: 10 October 2026

1. Who we are

alttextmeta.com, the Alt-Text-Image-Meta WordPress plugin and Shopify app (the "Service") are provided by Seventy Four Ltd, trading as Alt Text Meta ("we", "us"). When you use the Service you are contracting with us. Contact: hello@alttextmeta.com.

2. Acceptance

By accessing or continuing to use the Service you agree to these terms. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it; if you are an individual, you confirm you are at least 18.

3. The Service

The Service uses AI to analyse images and write alt text, titles, captions, descriptions and tooltips. Managed plans include AI processing up to your monthly allowance plus any credits bought. Own Key plans use your own OpenAI API key, and you pay OpenAI directly.

4. Accounts and licence keys

Keep your licence key and any API keys confidential. You are responsible for activity under them and for giving accurate information. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within your plan while your licence is active.

5. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service, including:

  • unlawful use, fraud or spam;
  • uploading content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • processing illegal content, sexual content involving minors, hate speech, or content meant to harass or deceive (including deepfakes);
  • attempting to jailbreak, bypass filters, or extract the underlying models;
  • interfering with security: malware, probing, scraping, or overloading our systems;
  • reverse engineering, reselling or sharing licence keys, or circumventing usage limits.

6. Your content and AI output

You keep ownership of images you process and must have the right to use them. You grant us a limited licence to host and process them only to provide the Service. Subject to these terms, you may use the generated text as you wish. You are responsible for your inputs, for checking output accuracy, and for how you use it. AI output can be wrong or incomplete and is not a substitute for professional advice in regulated settings. We may remove or restrict content, refuse or filter output, and suspend accounts that break these terms.

If you believe the Service has been used to infringe your rights, email hello@alttextmeta.com with details. We will investigate and may suspend repeat infringers.

7. Our intellectual property

We own the Service, including its software, documentation and branding. Nothing in these terms transfers that ownership to you.

8. Payments, renewals and cancellation

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, renewal, cancellation and refund terms are covered by Paddle's Buyer Terms. If you cancel, access continues until the end of your paid period. Refunds can be requested within 14 days of purchase or renewal; image credits already used are not refundable. See our Refund Policy.

9. Service level

We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is", without implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access for material breach, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. When access ends, the plugin stops generating new text. Text already saved to your site stays there. We delete licence and usage records as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Liability

Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, data or goodwill. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot legally be limited.

12. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims arising from your content, unlawful use, or breach of these terms.

13. General

We are not responsible for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger or sale. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. We may update these terms and will post changes on this page.
